Duties and Responsibilities: Periodontology or periodontics is the specialty of dentistry that studies supporting structures of teeth, as well as diseases and conditions that affect them. The doctors in our practice are specialists in endodontics or periodontics .Endodontists perform root canal procedures to save teeth. Periodontists treat gum disease, perform cosmetic procedures, and place dental implants to replace missing teeth.
Salary: $192,680 - $305,820.
Education: Even after you complete four years of dental school, you are not quite finished.Periodontists are required to complete a periodontics residency, which is usually three years long. In order to become board certified, you will need to pass a written and oral exam administered by the American Board of Periodontology.
Reflection: I would not like to become a Periodontists because it seem difficult and not really what im interested in.
